Rosé de Lautrec Pink Garlic - 1Kg Bunch

About This Product

The Garlic grown around the village of Lautrec in South West France has a reputation for being the best garlic in France. The garlic from this region is slightly stronger than that of the north and to a real connoseur a slight sweetness can be detected.
This is the Red Label (Label Rouge) variety, which is the best of the Lautrec qualities, in a 1 Kg bunch you can expect between 12 - 14 pink garlic bulbs.

Ingredients

Fresh Pink Lautrec Garlic.

Additional Information

This Garlic is harvested at the end of June each year and then dried in either fields or large barns for 2 weeks. Following this the outer skins are carefully removed to reveal the pink inner layers, the roots are cut back and the garlic is wrapped into bunches. The Pink Garlic is a "hardneck" variety which means that its stalk is solid and cannot be plaited, it is therefore wrapped into bunches or Grappes as opposed to the strings made from the "softneck" varieties.
The Garlic can remain edible until well into the following year if kept in dry, cool or ambient temperatures, however in our climate, we recommend that the Pink Lautrec is used by Christmas to eat it at its best.
